Building an approachable online presence for a one-of-a-kind mental health facility geared specifically to the unique challenges and struggles of young adults.

Malvern Behavioral Health opened its doors in late 2019, offering a unique acute inpatient behavioral health program for young adults, ages 18 to 26. Their program focuses on key stressors that impact young adults while providing individualized treatment. They also work with each person to develop the proper support, skills, and education to help them thrive in everyday life.

The Challenge

With a brand new program, Malvern Behavioral Health had no online presence outside of a single page on their sister company’s website. They needed a full, dedicated website and social media accounts that would establish their program and begin reaching appropriate online audiences. Additionally, they wanted a website that was modern in order to attract a young audience while also portraying a calm and inviting environment with a diverse patient population.

Our Strategy

It was important to both Malvern Behavioral Health and Tower that we built a website that felt honest. While many mental health programs present a narrative using happy, upbeat imagery, Malvern Behavioral Health wanted to offer the reality that treatment can be hard, and not every moment is happy. With this in mind, our design team made thoughtful decisions in choosing photos that showed the seriousness of the work while still portraying hope and positive outcomes.

Additionally, our design was representative of the relationships that are formed during treatment at Malvern Behavioral Health. We wanted young adults to see themselves represented on the website and chose imagery that presented the program’s diversity with a range of socio-economic backgrounds, a variety of cultural differences, and an environment that is LGBTQ-friendly.

The Results

A brand new website takes a lot of nurturing before Google recognizes it. It takes some time before Google starts to understand the context of the site and begins offering it within search engine results. Through SEO optimization, organic social posting, and social media advertising, the Tower team has elevated website traffic month over month. Traffic has grown from 23 monthly web sessions to over 2,000 monthly web sessions in six months.
