We’ve been fortunate enough to work with the team at Perky-Pet® on a variety of projects within the last decade. Their needs have spanned, custom email marketing campaigns with website connection, specialized social media marketing campaigns, and two instances of instructional video planning and production. The Perky-Pet® brand is dedicated to supporting one of the leading U.S. hobbies, bird feeding.
Although we’ve had the opportunity to assist the Perky-Pet® brand in some successful, creative campaigns, the one project that seems to stick out the most is the two different occasions of instructional video shoots. Our journey began with helping the brand to identify the products that would be the best options for ten instructional videos. These products included new releases, customer favorites, and those that received common customer questions via social media and the customer service department.
Next, we worked to scout locations, vet and select a video production partner, and provide a selection of talent options for the client to choose from. Through the scouting stages of the project, it was important for us to remember the audience and demographic that we would be talking to as the Perky-Pet® brand. Next, was script writing. We had many features about each of the products that we needed to tout, but we also had to make sure they were communicated in a way that took into account actions the talent would be taking on screen.
Once the scripts were finalized, it was time to create storyboards for each video. This crucial step not only gave us a glimpse of what the video would be at the end of the project, but it also was an essential roadmap that we used throughout our three days of shooting. Our Account Executive made sure that all frames were set-up and recorded to the length needed for any voiceover or onscreen audio.
The final step was working hand in hand with the video production company to stitch all elements together and pull together the final videos for upload to Youtube and use in marketing materials and efforts.
