Rethinking an Amish market’s brand presence as a high-quality purveyor of local food.
The Markets at Shrewsbury is a local farmers market located in York County, Pennsylvania. Since 2016, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with The Markets as an extension of their team to advertise their events, offerings, and appeal to both local residents and out-of-town visitors.
The Challenge
The Markets had a unique opportunity because the digital space was relatively untapped by their local competitors. They needed a cohesive marketing strategy to help them get to know their audience, while staying true to their small-town spirit and authenticity.
Our Strategy
We started with research to understand The Markets’ value proposition and competitive landscape. From there, we began work on a new website that would serve as the epicenter of all of their other print and digital media initiatives.
The new website also had to be user friendly for their older demographic, as well as simple to update with changes to events, offerings, and hours. We also simplified their printable coupon sheets so that they no longer needed a designer to make changes each week.
The Results
The Markets’ elevated brand is now consistent across all of their digital collateral and print pieces. The network of ads they release each week engage repeat customers and welcome new guests to a user-friendly site. The well-organized admin section makes for easy updates about event cancellations or inclement weather. And the website content highlights The Markets’ relationship with their local community, encouraging tourism to Shrewsbury.
The new website has seen an increase in users and a decreased bounce rate, meaning that customers are finding just what they’re searching for on The Markets’ site.
