Building an identifiable brand that coincides with a streamlined, functional website used by a wide array of local human resource professionals.
Lancaster Society for Human Resources Management (Lancaster SHRM) is a non-profit professional association, affiliated with the National SHRM. Lancaster SHRM is designed to support over 400 HR professionals and companies dedicated to managing human resources and driving overall business success. They are focused on the professional development of their members and work to advance the HR profession in the local Lancaster community.
The Challenge
With a goal of becoming the local authority recognized on standards of practice for HR issues and strategies, Lancaster SHRM was looking for a refreshed, modernized brand, marketing initiatives, and website. With a large portion of their member interaction happening through a web interface, Lancaster SHRM felt it necessary to improve their website maintenance and day-to-day management. An improvement in the website’s user experience was an added bonus to the functional requirements of the admin.
Our Strategy
When developing the modernized branding for Lancaster SHRM, we took into account the style and design of the national SHRM brand as well as other local SHRM chapters. Knowing that the branding of each chapter often appeared together, it was important to deliver a logo design that would help them to stand out and evoke a sense of approachability and professionalism. The logo design ultimately ended up as a representation of individuals coming together to create successful workplaces.
We worked hand-in-hand with the Lancaster SHRM Communications Committee to find an event solution and membership management system that was easy to use and aligned with their needs. Additionally, we designed content pages and page hierarchies that allowed for a comfortable user flow throughout the website as both Lancaster SHRM members and non-members perused training options, resources, and events.
The Results
The robust website was launched on the cusp of businesses reopening amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time when their organization was shifting events to a virtual capacity, the website allowed them to continue to serve their members and increase awareness of human resources management in our community. Additionally, Lancaster SHRM has been able to successfully navigate annual membership renewals and enrollments with ease of management and continues to add valuable resources.
