Stauffers of Kissel hill
Shopify Website
Crafting an online shopping experience for home and garden customers ahead of peak season.
Stauffers of Kissel Hill is a grocer and home and garden center with locations throughout central Pennsylvania. They came to us looking for a means to sell plants and gardening supplies online paired with a new in-store pickup option.
The Challenge
Before getting started with a Shopify website, Stauffers was offering seasonal garden products and supplies through a website that customers could purchase in-store. With the change in consumer buying behaviors throughout 2020, the home & garden team knew that they needed to offer a more convenient option. They were looking for an expert web development agency nearby to help build an online store that would allow customers to easily view the selection and pick up their orders at the store closest to them.
Our Strategy
The first step was to work with Stauffers to select a Shopify theme, reviewing a few options that were similar to the design and experience of their main website. After the theme was set, we got to work organizing their products into categories and subcategories. From there, it was time to import the products, store locations, images, and inventory. Then we got to work organizing the pickup options and product availability for store location. Just before testing and launching their new online home and garden store, we worked closely with their operations team to ensure that logistics of orders and store notifications were optimal.
The Results
IIn its first nine month, Stauffer’s Shopify store has contributed an additional $45,000 in revenue. They experienced peak seasonal sales on the store during the Christmas holiday season, winter bird feeding season, and spring prep season.
