- Who’s the target audience?
- Are the materials written for the “right” audience?
- How will that audience use this brochure?
- Should technical information be included?
- Does the manual reflect our company’s personality?
- Does the manual fit our overall strategy of image building and brand awareness?
- What kind of visuals do we have to work with? Do we have technical drawings? Are they proprietary, i.e. are we giving anything away?
- Can we include specifications? Are they proprietary?
- Do we have test results that could be included?
- Do we have independent, third party endorsements or tests to include?
- Do we offer warranties we could include?
- Does it meet with the company’s graphic standards?
- How can I register or log recipients for updates, corrections, new editions?
- What is the life of this manual? How often will it be reissued?
- Do I need to include other product literature?
- How will it be distributed?
- Will it be used by dealers or distributors, independent reps? Does this audience have any special needs or requirements?
- Should I include a disc or relevant information like drawings or specifications for customers to download?
